NCI Program
The NCI Can-ACT Network uses the cooperative agreement mechanism to fund six UG3/UH3 research centers that develop novel adoptive cellular therapies for both adult and pediatric solid tumors, and one U24 Coordinating Center to facilitate interaction and cooperation between UG3/UH3 awardees, the FNLCR Cell Production and ICN Core facilities, and NCI program officials. The NCI Program Directors act as the Program Official (named in the award notice) to be responsible for the normal scientific and programmatic stewardship of the award. The NCI Program will engage with the recipient of each award for consultation in their research project design, execution, setting milestones, data collection, data management and sharing. The NCI Program Director(s) can serve as a Project Scientist(s) to be involved in assisting and coordinating interactions and collaborations among the various investigators and any industrial partners and will ensure access to other NIH-relevant programs. As part of the NCI Program for the Can-ACT Network, the ICN Core housed in the FNLCR provides services to the Network with capabilities for the production of GMP-grade cell products and vectors, and standardization of assays, as well as providing guidance on quality systems and regulatory affairs for clinical trials.
